  • I have purchased the starter kit and have followed the demonstration to the last detail (even the same die) and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. By Jill's video, I'm placing the paper, inksheet and die directly on top of the transfer pad and running it through with the top cutting pad. My end result is the inksheet and paper are die cut with the ink transferred to the die cut paper, I also have the impression in the transfer pad (rather deeply). Since everything is cut, there isn't a "negative" to use as Jill demonstrates as an additional usage.

I'm using the Big Shot Plus with the A shim.

WHAT am I doing wrong? At this point the starter kit and all other inksheets are garbage bin bound and will be written off as a waste of money.

All pointers, missed steps, or other input is most welcome.   By: cmgerndt (22-Apr-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Through trial and error, I discovered the magnetic plate (like Goldilocks) was just right. The A shim was too high and allowed the cutting, the B was too low and it slid right through but the magnetic was high enough to apply the correct amount of pressure. • I'm sorry you've had such trouble! I've read elsewhere that the Plus machine seems to add more pressure, which is what it sounds like is happening with your transfers - hence the cutting instead of just transferring the ink. As the demo video is shown with a regular Big Shot, and not the Big Shot Plus, this could be the clue. I would try a different sandwich, perhaps without the B in between, just some other match-up so that the whole sandwich is slightly thinner. It may mean not using one of their shims, and using just an extra piece of paper instead. It should feel almost like you're not doing anything when you run it through. It might take a few practice runs, but once you figure it out, write your formula down and use that (I know I have to write them down and keep my own "cheat sheets" nearby or I'll forget!) Good luck! I hope this will help. By: SuzetteIS (23-Apr-18) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
