Cute Envelope but top tears at first

I am not sure why but the top part of the envelope keeps tearing off and then comes off. Okay I've now cut this envelop 4 times and the 4th cut is perfect. Guess it needs to be broken in. Its small and adorable. Love it

  • I love the idea of this die, but. . .

It cuts through designer scrapbook paper (even thick designer paper), so that the top and bottom flaps tear when scored - to the point where they would tear right off without much effort. It does okay on thick cardstock but then I decided to make a bunch of designer scrapbook paper envelopes. I tried MME, Graphic 45, Crate Paper and lots of other high quality paper brands and every single envelope I cut, the top flap was torn at the score line even before I scored it and the bottom flaps on 90% of them were weak and easily tore off. I was quite bummed.
