Create the perfect embellishment to fall-themed projects using the Sunflower & Acorns Ink-its Letterpress Plates. Sizzix Ink-its leave an ink-debossed impression on your project. It looks elegant and it's incredibly easy to use. Each Letterpress Plate measures 3" x 8" and is 1/8" thick. It's the ideal size to create a border on an A7-sized card. This design is 5 1/4" long and 1 3/4" across. To use, cover the Plate with pigment ink, then add a layer of clear watermark ink and position your paper on top. It's recommended that watercolor paper be used. Paper should be at least a medium weight or heavier (100 lbs or more) to achieve the optimum effect. Letterpress plates will work great on any soft, thick material, however. Use it on chipboard, matboard, cardstock or paper. Just run the plate through a BIGkick, Big Shot or Vagabond machine with a set of Cutting Pads and the machine's Platform (all items sold separately). For more options, craft metal can also be used with the Letterpress Plates. This product should not be used with shiny or non-porous materials, as the ink will not dry. Please note: if you are using regular cardstock and are not achieving the results you would like, position a narrow piece of craft foam in your sandwich, between the top Cutting Pad and the paper. To clean: use water and a paper towel to rub off the majority of the ink. Sizzix suggests using a stamp cleaner to clean the plates for troublesome spots.
