Description & Details
The Rustic Elegant Flowers Letterpress Plate is from the Ink-its Collection by Sizzix. Use this plate to create ink-debossed impressions on paper, chipboard, cardstock, mat board and other thick, soft materials. It's easy! Just ink the plate with a pigment ink pad and put your material on top of the plate. It's perfect for invitations, cards, layouts, and more. The Letterpress Plate is 5 7/8" x 8" x 1/8" and is for use with the Vagabond, BIGkick, and Big Shot only (Cutting Pads required). For best results, use 100 lb. (or heavier) watercolor paper and pigment ink layered over watermark ink. All items are sold separately. If the impression is not defined enough when using regular cardstock, put a piece of craft foam between the top Cutting Pad and the paper. Using shiny and non-porous materials is not recommended because the ink will not dry. Clean the Letterpress Plate with water and a paper towel or use a stamp cleaner.

    Product is super--instructions stink!

The sandwich is entirely wrong on the package: be careful or you will break your machine or crack a cutting mat as well as destroying a letterpress plate (Did the last two: Sizzix is replacing them). You need to open up all the flaps on the base piece. Ink the letterpress first with Versamark and then a pigment ink (not dye! I used Brilliance). Lay it face up on the base plate. Place the watercolor paper over the inked plate carefully and add one shim of cardstock and then one cutting mat. Roll it through and it embosses the ink into your watercolor paper. If you use plain cardstock, increase the shim count to three sheets of cardstock.
