Description & Details
The Damask Letterpress Plate is part of the Ink-its Collection by Sizzix. This plate allows you to create elegant ink-debossed impressions on cardstock, paper, chipboard, mat board and other thick, soft materials. Just use an ink pad to ink the plate and put your material on top. It's perfect for cards, layouts, invitations and more. The Letterpress Plate is 5 7/8" x 8" x 1/8" and is designed for use only with the Vagabond, BIGkick, and Big Shot (Cutting Pads and a Platform required). For best results, use 100 lb. (or heavier) paper and pigment ink layered over watermark ink. All items are sold separately. If the impression is not defined enough when using regular cardstock, place craft foam between the top Cutting Pad and the paper. Debossing shiny, non-porous materials is not recommended because the ink will not dry. Clean the plate with water and a paper towel or use a stamp cleaner.

What a wonderful product ONCE YOU LEARN TO USE IT!

Gorgeous! But there is a proper learning curve to using it:
regular dye inks, not anything fancy, or Versamark if you want to emboss the inking.
Ink it up, clean off stray ink, lay it face up on the number one tab of the multiuse platform (no cutting mat under it!), lay your cardstock on top, add a cutting mat and roll it through!
    OOOH pretty!

    Not sure I would..

I like the Letterpress plates in general, but found it to be a bit labor intensive when it came time to use it. It is too thick when teamed up with the platform (multipurpose,Big Shot) and I had to build my own sandwich with cardboard and several layers of stuff, then follow with the silicone embossing mat and the Textured impressions pad.

On the upside, once I'd found the right sandwich the results were gorgeous. So, "Yes, try the product. If you're into it enough to mess with different shims and things to get the results you want!"
