Must Have Silicone Rubber Pad For Embossing & Adding Texture

Here's the perfect tool to help get the embossing and texturing done right when using your Sizzix Big Shot and BIGkick machines. It's a must have !! Easy to use... just add it to your sandwhch of layers and the machine does the work. I found that this mat attracts the paper fibers leaving it coated but it is easy to clean by just running the mat under some cool water and drying it off with some paper towels... or using the sticky side of a piece of clear packing tape. I would highly recommend using this Sizzix Texture - Silicone Rubber mat.

Works great, but needs Impression pad.

I bought this pad to be used with my Cuttlebug. You do need the impressions pad to use this, but it works very well. It makes embossing with both brass and plastic stencils very easy. Though designed for a Sizzix, it works great with the Cuttlebug.

    • silicone rubber mat

This mat is great for the purpose it serves... as a soft surface between the texture plate and the hard plate. It allows the texture to squeeze thru and leave the imprint on the paper. Could possible use an old mousepad but this was cheap enough and clean.

    • Great bargains for great items

I wasn't able to find the texturz plates anywhere in Grand Junction, CO so when I saw them on this website decided to take a chance. Am very glad I did, will buy from Scrapbook.com again.
Can somebody tell me what in the heck a crease pad is? I have the Sizzix Big Kick. Am slowly learning how to use it. Have no idea what a crease pad does and why it's needed.

I am a newbie to this world of die cutting and machines as well. I was gifted a big shot but it didn't come with anything to use it so my question is what do I need to get started using the big shot die cutting machine please help me out anyone. I would like to use it to make jewelry I've seen it used on many craft shows and on you tube, but not sure what I would need and can't afford a lot cause I am on a fixed income. Thank you for your time and help and have a wonderful and blessed day.   By: User (03-Mar-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
      • the silicone mat embosses, and to the person who answered, yes it does cquish out the back end as you roll, it is supossed to do that, it is forcing itself into the die, pushing the paper into the die to emboss it, so it actually gets squished a lot and then some comes out the back, it isnt slipping out, its squishing so much its protruding out. Newbies need the impression pad and silicone mat if they are going to emboss things. paper to cut your dies out of,or other material u plan to use, some use fabric or plastic etc. you def need dies. you need either washi tape or masking tape to hold your dies in place, or a magnetic platform, your choice which is easier, you can diecut without either, but if you want a specific part of the paper and not want your die to move u need to tape it down.i put the masking tape on my hand first to make it less sticky so it doesnt rip the paper when removing the diecut.you need a poky tool to remove pieces of bits from the dies if you are using intricate dies. it can be anything from pointy tweesers to actual pointy tools made for this purpose.pretty much that is it thats needs. wants are another whole story. • Personally for the silicone rubbervwas a waste of money but maybe I don't understand how to use it. It just slips out instead of going through the machine. By: Karenlb (04-Mar-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • What is actual material used to create the Silicone Rubber mat? Does it contain actual rubber or latex? I have allergies and would like to know before purchasing. Thank you.   By: susan21479 (04-May-22) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
      • The silicone used to make this mat is considered part of the rubber family. Silicone is something of a hybrid between a synthetic rubber and a synthetic plastic polymer.
