    Sizzix love

    Was super excited when the die cut machine arrived but was a little disappointed on the difficulty of the operation for such a simple thing. The plates would not move through the machine as it should. It took quite a few tries to get the die to go through. Then after cutting the die, the plate was scared. So I'm not sure how long the acrylic plates will last. However the cut was clean and precise. I look forward to creating lots of things using the Sizzix.

      The base plate is used when building your "sandwhich" for die cutting in the machine. You take the base plate, lay the die on top with the cutting edge up, place cardstock on top of the die and place another plate on top. Then run the stack, or "sandwhich" through the machine.

      Die cutting machines may have different styles of base plates, but they all serve the same purpose, they are the bottom plate in the cutting "sandwhich".

      i would like to know too!!

      looks like it only comes with the thin clear plates, so, i don't think you could make a thick enough "sandwich" on its own.......

      However, i wonder if it would be safe to use the Sizzix base plate they have for their thin decorative strip dies? This one:
