When trying to stamp on glossy paper, I have found that you have to be really careful not to smudge your ink. Also, try heat embossing if from the back side. Hold your paper level, and have the heat come from behind the image. This way the embossing powder doesn't fly off your image and you'll be able to heat set it. Glossy paper is tricky and needs a little extra work but you should be able to do it. Good luck!
