  • Not the color of old paper

I was unsure if I just got a bad batch but there are others who find this color more green then aged paper. In fact it is a lighter shade of the Bundled Sage ink pad (the two go together beautifully).

If people really are getting that light aged tan color of real world aged book paper then I must have gotten a bad batch along with other people. I'd be wary of this purchase if you are pinching pennies.

As an alternative consider Antique Linen which is an off-white with a tiny bit yellow, a tiny bit gray, and a staple for anything vintage.

    distress yes, but....

...it is a shade of light green and not dark cream as it seems in the photo. If this sounds OK, then you will love it. I already have Bandled Sage and I think they are very similar. If I knew, I would buy Antique Linen instead. Great quality as always.

I keep going back to this color!

This ink pad is so versatile! I keep using it over and over again. The color is awesome and it's great for inking the edges of paper, photos, or for stamping. It gives great results for stamping! This is one I reach for on many, many LOs and cards. I have used it so much and it is still like new! I love it!

    Greenish Tinge to the Ink

The Distress pads are great - I like what they do because they do faux so well. However, the Old Paper ink is a bit on the green side when applied to white papers. If your paper is dyed through with a color then you get that older look without resorting to a brown or black ink.
Distress inks are a crafter staple.

  • Maybe MOSSY old paper

Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old Paper has been a staple of mine. But the latest package I bought is a totally different color than before. Green is NOT the color of any old paper I've ever seen. Why they would change the color is beyond me, especially when it isn't even close to what old paper looks like. I don't want my books to look like they were lying in a swamp!
I thought that maybe the package had been in a sunny window display or something and the label was just discolored, but that was not the case. I already have green distress inks. I don't need another. I'm not sure which color to buy to replicate the old paper look, as my walnut ink is too dark. Maybe Antique Linen. I'm very disappointed that the company would do this!

  • Extreme disappointment

After reading some of the reviews left by others on this site, I have come to the conclusion that I have either received a bad batch of Old Paper, or Ranger decided to change the color for some reason. The one I got today is GREEN, which is NOT what I was expecting. I'm extremely disappointed about this.

    A Favorite Color

I use this stamp pad most often for aging and distressing full sheets of cardstock or cardstock edges. When I tear paper I love how this ink looks on the torn edges (they become darker). All of the Tim Holtz Distress Inks help take your scrapbooking to a more artist, interesting and creative level.

    Great color, lots of uses!

All of the distress inks are great - but this color is unique. It surprised me a little when it had a greenish tinge to it - but that is exactly what makes it look just like old paper. Give this one a try!

  • Yes! A real distress look!

I bought the Old Paper pad first as I had heard raves about Tim Holtz products. Wow! This works so much different from chalk pads, much better. I love the way you can press harder or lighter while making streaks across your paper/edges for a real aged look. I have since bought more colors, and the refill bottles. What great products!

    old color for distress ink

It is nice to find one of the earlier colors from Tim Holtz Distress Ink line. There are 3 here: Old Paper, Brushed Corduroy, and Salty Ocean. Enjoy!
