Works beautifully on the Gate Fold album. Nice weight and construction. I would not use it on a side closing except if you made a fake leather belly band sort of wrap so it could lie flat on the front of the album. The two pieces must be positioned along side each other as in the photo.
However, I will most likely use my mini screw with these instead of brads. I can't imagine how the brads would hold these in place if you plan on actually using them to hold something closed. I already had them on hand so it isn't a big deal. I'm sure I'll find a use for the brads!
What I really like about these is the little ledge it has just above the loop where you go to put the latch in so as to stop the latch from popping out at any given moment. It actually requires some work to lift up the latch which is fine by me as I love the added security.
Prima products I recently bought were beautiful. I love all the products from Prima because they are so detailed and I love how awesome my projects turn out.
The lacthes are very beautiful, larger than I thought, but still very happy to have bought those, it will serve for an other project!

These are solid little latches. They work great! Just what I hoped they would be.
