Was surprised that I would like the look of a distressed glitter. But it turned out beautiful.
The color is not off-white, but an almost aged metallic-gold cream, so might look odd on pure white paper. The glitter is not just one shade; there are darker and lighter flecks. (The color would look nice blended with other glitters in the line.) The glitter feels very fine to the fingertip--less chunky than I was expecting. Should be very nice for vintage looks. Do be aware that this is a small jar, so a bit "spend-y."
This is perfect for the Steampunk mixed media pieces that we are making in class at the library, wasn't sure so use to very sparkly glitter but just what the art category needed.
This glitter has such a realistic vintage look to it. Amazing color!

How is the distress glitter different from regular glitter?

Hi: The Distress Glitter particles are not uniform in size or color. Some particles are almost powdery. The finished effect gives more color gradation than you get with regular glitter. Looks a bit more textured. (do note the pictures tend to make the jars look very large: they aren't, particularly.)

Glitter is a shiny medium to add to any project - Distress Glitter is very similar, it is a bit lighter in weight than most regular glitter. However, it is really meant to coordinate with the Tim Holtz line of distress inks...Distress glitter imitates mica (used, for example, during Egyptian times to add a shimmer to their art work) and is actually a bit less reflective than regular glitter.
