Glitter is a shiny medium to add to any project - Distress Glitter is very similar, it is a bit lighter in weight than most regular glitter. However, it is really meant to coordinate with the Tim Holtz line of distress inks...Distress glitter imitates mica (used, for example, during Egyptian times to add a shimmer to their art work) and is actually a bit less reflective than regular glitter.
I will add that Distress embossing powder is very different from regular embossing powder. It has particles in it that provide a rough feel to the surface, whereas embossing powder is quite smooth. Both are ink-resistant. Hope this helps.
