The Grand Calibur Junior Magnetic Placement Mat Set by Spellbinders includes two 8 1/2" x 6" mats. They can be used with any Spellbinders dies, but are essential when using the Spellbinders Imperial Gold dies (sold separately). Simply position the flat side of the die on the black side of the Magnet Placement Mat in the cutting sandwich. Use this sandwich to cut and emboss: 1. Spellbinders Base Plate A; 2. Spellbinders Magnetic Placement Mat; 3. Imperial Gold Die, with cut ridges up; 4. Material to be cut; 5. Spellbinders Cutting Plate. When embossing, stack the following items from the bottom up: 1. Spellbinders Base Plate A; 2. Spellbinders Magnetic Placement Mat; 3. Imperial Gold Die with cut ridges up and media still inside); 5. Spellbinders Embossing Plate B (sold separately).

    Not quite what I was expecting

    I suppose from the item title, I should have known what I was getting. But from the photo, they looked like plates, like you would use for the Big Shot. They seem to work well in my Grand Calibur, though. One thing I wish Spellbinders would do is include more detailed instructions on how to place your dies and exactly what sandwich to use. But overall, it is a good product for the price.

    MAGNETIC PLATES FOR THE CALIBUR

    I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BIGGER, THE SAME SIZE AS THE CALIBUR PLATES. WASN'T EXPECTING FOR THEM TO BE SO SMALL..

    Mats are flimsy but it does hold the dies in place.

    Poor Quality

    I must say that I'm not impressed with this product. It is not a strong magnet. It is just totally frustrating. I love the one for my other name brand machine...now that's a magnet!
