Like I am sure many other people were, I was thrilled with the idea of a small, portable, and user-friendly sewing machine made just for scrapbooking. Who needs a big tabletop version, just for sewing paper? Sadly, I was disappointed. Though the concept is great, the Provo Craft So Crafty Mini Sewing Machine is not user-friendly at all. It is nearly impossible to create a straight line, and the inability to regulate the speed makes you feel like it's out of control. I also do not feel that it produces a quality stitch when you do get it to sew. Sorry Provo Craft... I like many of your other products, but this one fell thru.
It is awful to use with thread. But take the thread out and use it to stich holes Then I use my floss and sew by hand. I love making my stems.. Are little flowers.. Well I was not just going to toss it..It is to CUTE!!!!

This was quite possibly the worst purchase I ever made for scrapbooking. It is too small and puny to do anything but the most lightweight jobs, and even thin paper doesn’t work too well. It is not a true sewing machine. Most of the time, it tore my paper. If you haven’t ever sewn before, this machine might even scare you off of sewing. If you tried it and it didn’t work out, get a real machine and try again. They make pretty decent small sewing machines that work MUCH better than this.
I was disapointed in this product. I was very excited to have a mini sewing machine as I sew a LOT on my pages - this would sure save time over punching holes and hand-stitching. My biggest complaint is that it couldn't sew through very thick cardstock. It kept getting stuck until I gave up on it. I sold it at a recent garage sale.
I'm not good with a regular table-top sewing machine, but this little guy is next to impossible to get working. As everyone else stated, it won't sew a straight line, and it feels out of control since there is no way to slow the speed. I would never recommend this product to anyone.
You can't regulate the speed and I couldn't get it to sew a straight line.
