I've been a big fan of Becky Fleck's PageMaps for years, so I was very excited to see this book released. It does not disappoint. It is full of the great sketches you've come to expect from Becky along with several page ideas per sketch. Also scattered throughout the book are scrapping and technique tips. Perhaps one of the best features of the book is the set of punch-out cards in the back. Each card contains a sketch and an example layout from the book, giving you all that information in a compact and portable format.
The only thing that might detract from the book for some people is the number of "oddly sized" photos that are used in the sketches. There are very few regular 4x6 photos used.
I was at a crop this weekend and used it on every layout. I may not make exactly what the sketch shows, but it gives me a starting point. We brought the book and the cards to the crop. Next time we'll just bring the cards, we never even opened the book while cropping. Fantatic book, highly recommend!
This is one of the most inspirational sketch books I've ever seen! If you've ever been in a scrap funk, these sketches will definitely help you to get your groove on. Not only is Becky Fleck a great sketch artist, she has made it easy to take the sketches along with you to a crop by providing a deck of sketch cards. Simply grab your sketch card, put it with your page kit and off you go! You can even take the cards along with you to shop for supplies. Great sketches and layout ideas await you in this fantastic book by Becky Fleck.
I'm a bit of a book "hoarder". i don't want to miss a good idea so I have a ton of mags and book with post its everywhere. This whole book book is a post-it. The sketches are clear enough to imagine your own embellies/paper plus the finished LOs have great techniques. I love the punch out and take with cards in the back that you can write on with dry erase marker for crops or ideas on the go. Definately worth the bang for the buck1
This is a great new book from Becky Fleck. I love the "box" and punch cards for page maps in the back. They can easily be taken with you and help in page planning. Another super feature of this book is adaptation of the sketches is shown for example 8 1/2 x 11 are adapted into 12 x 12. I highly recommend this book.
