I am actually finishing up assembling my second project: I gave the one I made last year to my DIL and her mother liked it so much that I'm doing one for her.
So why three stars?
I've taken one off because this does not come with assembly instructions and there really is a need for them because the parts do need to be put together in a particular order. (I used the Google to find a good step-by-step.)
And I've taken another off because of the difficulty of inserting the parts. You need to have a file handy for the tabs and slots that expand slightly when your project is painted. (You have to paint part of this prior to assembly.)
Once all that is out of the way, it's a pretty easy process and like I said, the resulting project is wonderful.

I belong to a small group of women who make and collect miniatures. In other words, we play with dollhouse things. One of the group saw these at a miniature show and brought the idea back to us. We are excited about decorating and filling this Advent calendar. I got mine first and have separated the parts and started construction. I believe anybody could get a good result with this kit. Who knows? Maybe this will encourage some of our group to add scrapbooking to their activities. We will probably fill the drawers with tiny dollhouse Christmas treasures rather than candy.
I decided to purchase this advent calendar because it is a nice size and made of good -- instead of cardboard -- so it will last longer. Kaisercraft has good instructions for assembly and decoration online. Putting the frame together takes quite a bit of time, but it is all worth it in the end. You can do so much with it and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

This calendar is fun since you can decorate it any way you want. It is a great size and I love the little drawers for candy. However, it was extremely time consuming! Not only did it not come with any instructions, I had to use a saw, dremmel tool, drill, glue, and paint just to get it together to begin decorating. The pegs didn't fit in the slots, so I had to sand them down with the dremmel tool. I had planned to spend about 3-4 hours on this project, and it would up being more like 20 hours over several days. If you are okay with that, then go for it.
My daughter has been wanting one of these for a long time, this year is the year for her to start one for her daughter. This is going to be great for putting little pieces of candy or a small toy into, even notes from santa......
I have not begun work on the product yet but am anxious to and have some ideas. I'm waiting for another to come in stock so I can get a 3rd one to make for next Chrismas.
I've been looking for something like this for several years. I'm so glad I found it! I "adopted" an orphan to support and send gifts to from time to time. Her birthday is late Nov. so I've wanted to send her an Advent calendar. I plan to start this project in August and can hardly wait, but alas, other projects must come first!
I have bought multiple Advent boxes, just like the one shown, from Scrapbook.com and they are beautiful when you add your personal touch. I plan to order more. This makes a great family gift that can be passed down for generations to come.
I saw this in a magazine and decided to do it, I have finally (sigh) done all the sanding and I'm now up to decorating it (the bit we all enjoy) :-) The instructions are very clear and it's a good size. I can't wait to finally finish mine!
Went to see my mom for a couple of days and we put it together. We used Graphic 45 St. Nicholas and we love it. My mom and I both enjoyed making it Very easy to put together
