When this punch arrived it was locked up. I couldn't get it to completely open. I thought I'd have to return it but after a bit of tapping on the table, it sprung free. I punched some thin paper a few times and it began to punch smoother each time. It must have had a rough trip in the shipping. It works great now. The detail is wonderful and pattern is sturdy enough I don't need to add a backing to it if I use it for a pocket in a mini album. It's fast becoming one of my favorites.
