I thought I would add my 2 cents to help balance out the review of this product. I have not had any problems cutting circles that line up using this cutter. I think what may help is that I use my Making Memories Slice 12x12 glass mat which is slightly tacky. Also, I apply firm and even pressure when I am pressing down on the tool and turning it. I also try to cut the circle in one movement, meaning I don't pause or stop while I'm cutting.
I really love this circle cutter. My former trimmer was much more challenging to use. I love how this tool has marked notches so you know exactly what size circle you are cutting.
Good luck!

MSC coud have made this tool a bit more user friendly from my perspective. I've had it for a about a 6 weeks now, so here's what i learned. You've got to watch the MSC video to figure out how it works and even then NO one tells you that the slide is a locking mechnisium for the blade button (small one) which has teeth in it to lock the button down. With the tool flat on the desk you must first pull the small button UP BEFORE you slide it into place or you wiil break the small teeth out of your unit. This cutter MUST be used with a cutting pad! If you do it right it works perfect!

I used this tool for the first time this weekend. I created an 11" circle with ease! I had no trouble at all. I was able to easily center the tool and even use my scrap elsewhere.
The only con that I can think of is you need a mat that DOES NOT move and you should absolutely use removable tape to hold your paper in place.
I have tried using this product a number of times and have yet to make a perfect circle! By the time you make it around to where you started, the cut does not match up. I'm very careful not to move the base of it and it still does not match up. The last time I used it, it cut half the circle and just scratched the paper on the other half. After looking closely at the blade, I noticed it was bent and that's why it didn't cut the other half of the circle. I don't think I was applying an abnormal amount of pressure. You have to apply some pressure for the blade to cut the paper. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this product.
I tried it a few times, even replaced the blades. It does not cuts through even thin cardstock, leaving an uneven edges....I tried different cutting mat surfaces...you have to put a little pressure and go a few rounds in order to get a so-so result
I've tried several times to cut just one perfect circle. Noe it can't be done. Sorry, but expected more from Martha...
