I purchased several blank calendars to make as gifts - and I have to say, this one by Therm-O-Web is one of my two favorites. (The other one I really like is the Making Memories 10"x10" Blank Calendar.) The reason this tops out over the one by MM? Because it is a full 12"x12". May not sound like much of a difference - but it is. Not only is there a little extra room, but you can easily use a 12"x12" piece of paper for the background without having to do a lot of "surgery".
Along with the monthly design surface being a little bigger in the 12"x12" size, the daily squares are also a little bigger...which I really like. If you are a busy mom trying to keep track of activities/appointments for multiple kids, or have a lot of dates to keep track of (birthdays, anniversaries, etc), THIS is the calendar for you. The squares are the perfect size to keep track of Uncle Frank's birthday - and still have room to write the time, place, and RSVP # for Jenny's birthday party - and still have more room to write about the twins dentist appointments - and you can even include parent/teacher conference information on the same date! (Not that I suggest you do that many things in a day - or at least not very often!)
The paper weight is right-on as well - no flimsy paper with pages that will fall apart!
If your life is busy - and what parent doesn't fall into that category?? - you'll appreciate the spacious squares this calendar has to offer. It's wonderful!
This is a great calendar if you want something that is completely blank. The only thing it has pre-printed is the days of the week and the basic grid. You have to add the days and months, which is great because this will work for any year, or even as a mid-year gift.
It has 13 months, which means you could make it Dec-Dec or Jan-Jan (what I did this year), or whatever you like.
The pages are pretty sturdy, so you can feel safe adding heavier embellishments or cardstock. However, I really wish that the binding was a little more accommodating, as once you add your pages, it's a little thick (and I didn't use anything other than paper and ribbon and a few buttons).
Overall, it's not the best calendar out there (my favorite is still the Heidi Swapp Scrapbook calendar), but it's a great, inexpensive option.
This calendar works great with my 365 Special Days Album system. I'm using this one for my new My only wish is for a perforated edge to take the calendar pages out easily and slide them right into a 12 x 12 album page protector.
Used in this project: April 09 - Paxton
I make all my own calendars for my family. This is a good sturdy calendar with heavy pages. I hope I'm able to buy more.
This is a good quality calendar. Heavier weight paper will support all your embies. It is totally blank though, just has squares for each month, you fill in the dates and titles/holidays.
This truely is a BLANK calender. There are no dates or numbers in the calender. So you have to get a regular calender and add in all the dates and holiday yourself by hand. It is horribly time consuming. I thought making a calender would be easy but this is a lot of work. Buy a 2010 calender kit that already has all the dates instead.
