No need to say Hocus Pocus! All you need is the Hocus Pocus Black Magic ColorCore Cardstock from Core'dinations. Like other Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock, this black cardstock has a core of vivid color. By sanding, tearing, or antiquing, you can expose that core for a beautiful effect. That same color appears on the reverse side, making the cardstock ideal for cardmaking and photo matting. This cardstock is a heavyweight 80 lb. premium paper, and it's acid-free and lignin-free. Each sheet has a canvas texture on one side and a smooth texture on the other. Each pack includes 20 12" x 12" sheets of paper, each with a different core color.

    Great Colors

One side of the pp is Black the other is a color so when you tear the pp you have a colored edge. If you crinkle the pp you get distressing with a colored edge. Also this happens when sanding the pp. After sanding the pp clean the pp with a baby wipe to lift all the black dust left behind to show the colored pp. Great pp for mixed media and painting. Nice heavy weight also.

    Just Like magic!!!

I am so excited about these papers! They are so much fun, and they are perfect for Halloween, or everyday use for that matter. They remind me of the art we would do in school around Halloween time where you color a picture and then wash over it with black watercolor. So much fun! It goes great with the Cosmo Cricket Blackboard line too! Sand the edges, tear it, sand it all over, it is so versatile! You really have to try it for yourself!!!

    Love these colors

I just love the fabulous colors in these Color Core cardstocks packs. While the front of the package shows more than 20 colors, you get one sheet of 20 different colors per pack. I picked up the Hocus Pocus pack. I love the vibrancy of the colors when they are torn. I like the crumpled antique look as well. I'm not a big fan of how the paper handles the sanding technique as it muddles the colors too much. I'll have to play with that some more. I will probably pick up the Black Magic pack next as I want that vibrant red called Hypnotic.

    Nice, but a little misleading

Like many people do, I did not read the complete description of this product only to find when it arrived, that it was textured cardstock. I really was only wanting plain cardstock. Now, don't get me wrong, it is very nice quality and I do really like the colors, but I was trying to get away from textured as I have plenty of it already. I'll keep it, but learned my lesson.

  • Fun product!

I like the Core'dinations line and this Black Magic in particular. The black really shows off the "core" color nicely. It's a nice weight, not too heavy, not too thin. It's great for a distressed look, whether crumpled, sanded, or torn. I like to use it with dry embossing. The embossing alone isn't enough to bring out the core color, but going over the high points with a sanding block will do the trick. Comes in a wonderful variety of core colors, too!

  • Fun

I really like the concept of the core'dinations papers -- that you can sand or rip the paper and see a different color core. I just got an embossing machine and I cannot wait to use it with my core'dinations papers -- I absolutely love the look of sanded embossed images using core'dinations paper.

  • Cool for dry embossing

I am reviewing this product because I am using it right now with a Cuttlebug folder (Allegro) and love how it looks. I used an emery file to expose more of the core, but you could just leave it how it is also, depends on how much of the core color you want exposed..

When I use my embossing folder on the paper and sand the design will the design come up black or what color? Does each color have a different color after sanding the design or are they all the same sanded color?   By: User (16-Mar-17) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • I have a lot of paper and I haven't used this in ages. So I'm going on memory here. This cardstock that you are referring to is called Black Magic. It is black and when sanded a core color comes through. The one you are asking about has a core of bright jewel colors on the inside. I wanted to add that one side of the paper is the color that comes through. You can also sand the color side to have the black come through. I almost forgot about that

I know what embossing is but I don't emboss myself. But it should be the same - if you sand what you embossed, the core color will come through. It might even come through on the edges when you emboss. By: kitn (18-Mar-17) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
