First, I love the cap on this adhesive/clear embellishment product. I have other adhesives such as ribbon glue and metal glue that do not have a cap that screws on. That makes me hesitant to pack it in my embellisment case as I worry it will open and/or leak. Although my case is divided a glue would seep into other compartments. This cap is secure and I would be comfortable packing it with anything else to go to crops. Also, it does dry completely clear and glossy. I used it initially on the french knots I made with some paper stitching, which gave them a shiny appearance and secured them. I wanted to prevent them coming loose since I clipped the excess thread so close and this turned out to be the perfect solution. I have many more ideas for using this product and, like the other reviewers have mentioned, it really does not take much at all so I imagine this bottle will last a long time.
I really like Glossy Accents because I can use it in many ways:
- as a regular adesive
- it is really clear so I can use it on clear embellishments, buttons etc, for example I adhere patterned paper underneath a clear button with it, perfect
- I love to use it over paper bits, i.e. printed or colored images, because when it dries it gives an epoxy finish and if you use it abudantly the result is almost 3d. It also retains its elasticity and doesn't crackle if you bend it.
- I also use it to make faux "pearls": I use a drop of stickles, let t dry and on top of it a ganerous drop of Glossy Accents.
The only thing that I don't like is that I have to wait too long if I use it thick, so I let it dry overnight just to be sure.
I love this stuff. I actually bought a second bottle so I would not run out. I never do that. You can use it as an adhesive with just the smallest dot and it holds flowers, ribbons, chipboard, grungeboard...what ever you stick will stay! I've used it over rub ons that I put on TH fragments to keep them from rubbing off. I've used them to glue paper behind the fragments as it's see through. I LOVE it with a one of the masks...just ink or use glimmer mist over your mask heat set and then use the glossy accents to add highlighted dimension to certain areas. It's fun, versatile and a must have in my tool box.
This is already my second bottle of Glossy accents. I've used it for several projects - the most recent, I made him a sheriff's badge and covered it in Glossy accents and it looked so cool! Everyone wanted to know where I found a badge with his name on it - they couldn't believe that I made it! From accenting a small piece on a project to covering bigger items, this is perfect! I have a small mini fan (battery operated) that I leave on the item to dry and in no time, I'm ready to move on to my next project. A great addition to anyone who scraps or makes cards!
I just love glossy accent! It is so versatile. It´s my favorite when it comes to glue, and it is also great for making 3D effect. I think it gives a very cool effect to put some on the paper you´re using, and then drag it randomly across the page with a ruler. And I also often put it on cut-out letters and swirls to get dimension. Sometimes first, and then paint over with crackle paint, or paint the letters first, then use glossy, for shiny letters. It can also be used to make waterdroplets on flowers. and so much more... :)
