How to construct a layout using this Floorplan and Scrapbook.com E-Cuts:

1 Download the “Days of Summer” E-Cut and print onto white cardstock.

2. Cut out all four large elements and one photo corner. Lightly sand the edges* of the title block - “Lazy Days of Summer." (To achieve the "water dropplet" look on the E-Cut, hold your finger under running water for a moment, then gently touch your wet finger to the photo mat and title block. Allow a few minutes to dry.

3. Choose four photographs, cutting three of them to 2 ˝ x 2 ˝ squares, and leaving one at 4x6.

4. Mount the title block to a light turquoise colored cardstock leaving a 1/2 inch border on the top, bottom, and left-hand side. Leave a larger (1 1/2 inch) margin to the right side of the title block.

5. Punch five holes along the right edge of the mounted title block. Choose three different colors and patterns of ribbon / fibers / rick rack. Of those three colors, choose one and cut three pieces, each four inches long and tie those through the first, third, and fifth hole. Tie your two other ribbon selections through the two remaining holes.

6. Use an Exacto knife to cut along the ribbon and around the sun on the photo mat. Slide your 4x6 photograph underneath the edges of the ribbon and sun you just cut and adhere it to the mat.

7. Begin constructing the page by adhering the photo mat to the bottom right-hand corner of your foundation, leaving a 3/4 inch border on the bottom and right-hand side. Adhere the hand written box ("Summer Vacation") to the left of the photo mat aligning the top edges. Leave a space and adhere the "Sun" box beneath that. Handwrite the date under the two boxes to line up with the bottom edge of the photo mat.

8. Adhere the title to the top left-hand corner of your foundation, leaving the same 3/4 inch space as the photo mat.

9. Place your three square photographs on the left side of your foundation, the bottom photograph lining up with the bottom of the photo mat, and equal spacing as you adhere the remaining two photographs upward, toward the title block.

10. Place your photo corner in the upper right-hand corner, flush with the edges of your foundation.

11. Using Making Memories "Express It" word stamps and your Staz On ink pad, choose three words, and stamp them onto the photo corner, the sun, and two of your square photographs.

12. Finish your layout by adding journaling. Emphasize words by tracing over them with a blender pen.

Tips:

*For a more distressed look, gently sand the edges of your photos and a few E-Cut elements using a medium grit, 2x2 square piece of sand paper. Place the item to be sanded on a piece of scratch paper, on a table top, and holding the item securely, sand the edges back and forth, using short strokes, removing just the ink from the edges.
