The 9" Bypass Paper Trimmer by Fiskars is just what you need to crop your family photos or trim your paper for your traditional layouts. Cut up to 5 sheets of paper with no fanning, shredding or fingerprints.

This trimmer is lightweight and about 11 ½” long. It has rubber slip-proof feet so it won't slip or slide. It comes with a clear plastic film to protect the grid, which consists of measurements in increments as small as 1/16th of an inch and has a "finger guard" to hold photos and paper in place without risking fingerprints.

Features:

  • The 1/4" visibly bold grid lines make easy and precise measurements the first time
  • The crystal clear smudge guard lets you hold things in place for complete accuracy without getting messy fingerprints on your photos or printouts.
  • Rubberized feet keep the base from sliding around so that each cut is perfect every time
  • The super sharp guillotine-style blade cuts perfectly

Tips:

  • Using a Sharpie or address label, write your name on the bottom of your trimmer.
  • If possible, keep the plastic cover on the grid to protect it as long as possible.
  • If you are trying to cut five sheets of paper at once, make sure it’s less than 20lb bond.
  • Actually use the fingerguard; it is what makes the paper cut straight.
  • This trimmer is wonderful for cutting/trimming photos
  • Use caution and keep it away from younger kids who are unable to keep their fingers out from under the blade.

Lovin my 9 inch bypass Trimmer.

I have had my trimmer for 1.5 years now, and I have used it EVERYDAY.. over 500 Layouts and 60 cards, as well as pics and the blade is just now starting to get dull! This trimmer is light weight so it is portable, it is easy to use and very easy to store in small spaces. I would definitely recommend this trimmer for anyone with a low budget, small scrap space or for people who travel with their supplies alot.

  • I can't say enough good things...

About this bypass trimmer. I already had a large 12 x 12 trimmer, so I thought I'd pick this one up for my smaller jobs, and I can honestly say it is one of the BEST scrapbooking purchases I have made to date.

One great thing about this trimmer is its size. It can be slipped into a bag and taken to crops, you can carry it to the living room and use it on the coffee table....it can go pretty much anywhere. And because of its size, it is great for those small jobs you need a precise blade for.

Something else I love is the sharpness of the blade. I have cut more than 2,000 pieces of paper with mine and the blade is still as sharp as the day I bought it.

I have found few tools as useful as this trimmer...it's worth having two!

    LOVE it!

I love this trimmer! After years of frustration with other trimmers' uneven cuts and dull blades, I've found this. If you use the finger guard correctly, it always cuts straight (don't skip the finger guard or it cuts really, really crooked). The blade is self-sharpening. I wish I'd found this sooner.

    My New Best Friend

I have been having the best time with this little gem, triming photos and smaller pieces of background paper.
I have a larger Frisker's trimmer that is good for 12" paper but this little trimmer is indispensable for my scrapping.

  • Handy Tool

Although I had not had this cutter long, I have found it to be extremely handy and useful. Its size is great for keeping out and accessible or for carrying to a crop. I do so much cutting I get tired of replacing rotary blades to maintain a good cut, so I appreciate this type of blade. Fiskars products are ones I trust for quality as well.

The smudge guard lets you hold papers securely while you are trimming. I never have a problem with slipping.

My children are all grown at this point so I do not have to worry about children's safety.

  • Not a very safe trimmer

I don't like this trimmer because it has no safety features. I nicked my knuckle the 3rd time I used it and got rid of it after that. If you have children, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this. I was so afraid my 4 year old would get this and cut a finger off. It also doesn't cut very straight. The paper tends to slide while you're cutting and it cuts crooked. Don't waste your money on this.

    Great product!

I'm quite new to scrapbooking and before now, only had a cheap little paper cutter. The size of this trimmer is very handy. And the quality of the trimmer is very high. This is to be expected from the Fiskars brand.

    • This is a guillotine cutter and the blade does not require replacement. If it has become dull you might take it somewhere that sharpens blades or replace the cutter. By: Joanie R (30-Sep-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Yes you can as long as it isn't too thick. If you can bend the chipboard, you can cut it. By: much2busy2 (08-Nov-21) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

How wide is the ruler across the top? I cut a lot of paper in half for cards but my current ruler stops at 5" and I had to score my own line. Also would be nice for photos and project life stuff if it was 6"   By: User (09-Apr-15) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • The printed ruler (grid) across the top of the 9” bypass trimmer from the cut line is 5 inches. If you are asking about the actual paper fence used to straighten the paper, that is approximately 4 inches. By: Janna L (13-Apr-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • The ruler across the top is 5 inches, although there is a little margin that is at approximately 5.25 inches. By: MoragMac (11-Apr-15) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
