The Fiskare ShapeCutter has been wonderful for me to use to use with the templates and freehand. I can make such nice decorations to put around photos taken of each of my five children for memory pages of the scrapbooking.
It has become dangerous for me to use scissors. Using the ShapeCutter I can work on projects and not hurt myself. I have Epilepsy, most seizures come on with no warning. I had to move to an assisted living center long before retirement age...I am often mistaken for an aide because I can walk, talk, and function much of the time.
I work on projects using computer/internet and the Fiskars templates and ShapeCutters
One project is making birthday posters for the residents. Each poster has Happy Birthday, day and month, and their first name - the dates and name are made by using the templates and ShapeCutter. Around the sides I put some decorations of flowers, animals and other cut from the templates that are fitting to that resident. It is amazing how long people keep the cards on their door...some up to over a year.
The Shapecutter is very helpful for the posters on my door. The posters are positive historical events on that date, major (and minor that we take for granted) events, inventions, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, First Ladies, Founding Fathers. and more. Using the ShapeCutter I can make the letters large enough that residents who have a vision problem can read them. Aides have told me they like the large letter, one sentence, date, and place (with decorations) posters, as they don't have time to stop and read, but can learn and review as they walk by.
The posters of events, people, inventions, celebrations, etc are placed all over my door. Amazing how many people come to read them. Many times I open my door and a person is reading the posters...some don't know what to say, get flustered and start to apologize. They calm down when I tell them "That is what they (posters) are for- to read - so we can keep learning and studying". (Recently one of my neighbors has been coming over to the door right away when he sees me changing the posters. He says "You putting up some new ones?" He is excited and starts reading them.) I can use the posters for several years and make new ones for more events each year.
The ShapeCutter is such a safe tool and I can do many projects with it. Please keep making it and the replacement blades

I am so glad I found this site where these blades are available. Every retail store that I checked required me to purchase the mounting as well as the blades, and did not sell the replacement blades only. Prices on this site were much better than other online suppliers, so that even with shipping, it was still cheaper to purchase from scrapbook.com
I use my ShapeCutter everytime I scrapbook. For some reason no stores in my area carry the blades so I was really excited when I found them at Scrapbook.com. The ShapeCutter blades cut through photographs, cardstock and paper with quick precision. Love this product!
I just love my shape cutter and with these blades I can cut with accuracy! They are nice and sharp and cut well though paper/cardstock and thin chipboard.
Great to use in the Ultra shape express which they are made for. Nice and sharp.
