I have always loved rotary trimmers...they do a much better job then the little stationary blade style ones, and are much easier to line up than a guillotine style.
However, the portability has been a huge issue until recently. With all the new, portable rotary's coming out, I chose the cutterpede b/c I love the other products by this company. I have not been disappointed! I love the magnetic locking of the bar. I really like that when you push the shuttle all the way back it locks itself in place. There is a variety of optional blades...I really like the deckle for echoing a 'grass' type effect, and the kids that visit to scrap on occasion LOVE the blade options. The blades themselves are super easy to trade in and out, but lock in place well enough that they don't fall off.
The cutting mat does does wear out fairly quickly on each area, but you can flip it in four different directions, which makes its lifespan pretty substantial. Blades are inexpensive to replace, as are the channel mats.
Straight lines are a breeze.
Love this trimmer!
Highly recommended...have NO reason to complain about whatsoever, and will not switch trimmers anytime soon.

I have the pink version of this cutter and I couldn't be happier. I have gone through so many cutters (think 4 Fiskers) and this one has stood up to my use. I like the bendy arm for cutting smaller pieces and I love that the blades are inter-changable so you can have different cuts or even score your paper. I haven't had to replace any of my blades yet and have yet to replace the cutting mat even though I bought a couple extra just in case - I use it A LOT. I also like that it has a magnet at the base to kee the blade arm attached to the cutter base when not in use or to keep your paper from moving. The only think that would make this better is if there was a little loop to go over the handle on the magnetic base to keep the blade arm down when packed or put away so it doesn't get damaged.

I'm so glad not to have wavy cuts any more!
1. It cuts straight every time. Make sure your paper is pushed up against the lip on the top of the cutter and that the magnet in the arm has clicked into place and you're all set.
2. The extendable ruler goes out to 15" and it has markings all the way to 15". Even my big fiskars only has markings out to 11 1/2 inches.
3. The clear arm allows you to see what you are cutting which is great for cropping photos.
4. The 3 1/2 inches (with markings from 1 5/8" to 3 1/2") to right of the blade comes in very handy.
My only complaints are that the the ruler is not well marked for the 1 5/8 inches just to the right of the blade and that replacement mats can be hard to find.... but they carry them here.

I have been cutting with this trimmer for over 3 years and I really have found it to be the best one I've ever owned. I have to say I have never owned or used one of the "expensive" ones though. However, for the money, this trimmer has exceeded all my expectations. I am on my second one but only because I carelessly left my trimmer laying on the floor with the arm extended and then stepped on it causing the arm to break at the joint.
I have no problem cutting a straight line, I like that I can turn the mat 4 different ways thereby extending its life, that there are a number of different blade attachments (especially a scoring blade) and that all the replacement parts are very inexpensive. I would definitely recommend this trimmer to others.

When I first started scrapping, I always measured by drawing lines and then cutting with scissors. Seem Ancient!! Well, when I really got into scrapping, I bought one of these amazing cutters. The Cutterpede is so easy to use even for a lefty like me. It has an extendable ruler to help you measure that also folds to give you a perfect 6 inch cut. There are several different blades: cut, score, wave, perforator, etc... that are easilby slid on. The cutting mat is also easily replaced. Just pull it out and slide a new one in. I never thought cutting could be this easy. I love this one so much I have two!!!!
