The Dove Blender is a revolutionary new blending medium specially formulated to make blending color easier. Achieve more variation and depth without using many colors. Blender works with all colors. It is best to experiment as some papers will react better than others.
Works with any water based pens, water based pencils, or chalks
Blend several existing colors for added beauty and variety
Lighten an intense color by several shades by working the blender over desired area
Never has to be replaced: easily refillable and replacement nibs are available
Easy to refill: take a pair of pliers and twist the back end of the pen off and add a few drops of blending fluid until it drips from tip
NOTE: It is important to wipe the remaining color off the blender tip before changing color
TIP: A way to apply marker color is to use a hint of color on your palette and use the blender pen to apply color on your stamped image, like you would with a paint brush.
How long does a nib usually last? I a.m. using my dove blender with watercolor pencils, scribbling the color off to the side to make a palette then picking it up with the blender pen. After two or three images, I fill like I need to replace the nib because it is a bit frayed and doesn't seem to get into close areas as well. Is this typical?

I have found the more pressure that is used, and the more a "scrubbing" technique is used, the faster the nib becomes frayed. I have used a small scissor to reshape the nib, to extend the life of the nib.
Thank you, Luann. I took my scissors to the nib tonight & it's much better. I'll use a lighter hand in the future! I ordered 20 replacement nibs so I should be good for a while. I love using the blender pen with my watercolor pencils.
