This was my first sketch book - I would also flip through the pages for inspiration - it's great to see how others adapt the sketch to make it their own. Each section is divided into how many photos fit in the sketch and then there's a collection of all the sketches at the back - some without examples which help to challenge your mind a bit more. There are common question and answer pages and ideas on how to make your own sketches. This book also has relatively few adds, so it's choc full of layouts. Great for scrappers block!
I need all the help I can get - and Becky Higgins is one of my all-time favorite sketch artists! I like simple sketches that I can decide how to embellish and Becky's sketches always provide that...
I have two of these sketches books. They are a huge help to me when I find myself stuck. My only complaint is that the example Lay outs are not very up to date as far as style. but, the book itself is fabulous. I have started getting into sketches one year ago and now find them easier to use. It is hard to think outside of the box for me but following sketches gets me to a starting point. Much easier to follow then just thinking of an idea myself and when there are a lot of distractions around sketches keep me focused.
This is a good sketch book. I like that it's separated by number of photos per sketch. There's also sample layouts that show how the sketch was adapted. You can also turn a sketch to give it a different look. This sketch book was my Bible for a few years. Everytime I sat down to do a layout I would flip through the book first for ideas. I haven't used it in awhile because I used so many of the sketches that I needed to take a break. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves sketches and is looking for new layout ideas.
