    It says on the open side it holds 12 x 12 paper, but all I see is divided area on the photo. Is the open side on the bottom? How many sheets of paper or how thick is the open side?       I measured the bottom storage space - it's 3/4 to 1 inch deep. Depending on how much extras (buttons, bows, wood cut-outs, flowers) you put on your pages, it should work fine for what you want but factor in how deep you need with all the embellishments you're going to put on.       Yes the other side opens too! It's pretty handy as I do crops myself. It does not hold a lot on the other side maybe just a few pages that you might be working on.
