I have several small album that hold ten sheets. They have posts. Of course, they can be extended. However, there is a struggle in getting the extra protectors in and the ever-threat of the album popping open.
So, I purchased the American Crafts 12X12 Album and the American Crafts Page Protectors to go with them. I can move the whole page if I want, they are wider, flipping won't bend them. I can put more of these in the large ring binder.
I think the decision was the best I ever made!

If you own an American Crafts 3 ring album (which I HIGHLY recommend) then this is the perfect fit.
I like that the area on the side where the holes are, is thicker and wider then most page protectors. being a bit wider means that your pages don't get bent up when you are flipping through your album.
I tried using other page protectors with my album, but found that American Craft page protecters are the best fit.
I like these page protectors because they are so sturdy and a bit larger than 1212. Finished pages slip in and out so easily and I don't have to cut my 12 X 12 paper to fit -- which is what I had to do when using Pioneer 12x12 protectors. The extra bit of space also allows for thicker items to fit well in the pocket. Will continue to order them as I need them.
One can never have enough page protectors, and these fit into the American Crafts binders perfectly. However, they can also be cut, sewn and otherwise altered for other scrapbooking projects -- mini albums are a perfect example, or sewn onto a scrapbook page around a photo, etc.
I took Stacy Julian's Libarary of Memories Class and now use American Craft's Modern albums with these page protectors. They are nice and roomy and fit pages with embellishments.
