Purchase the American Crafts Smooth Writing Gel Pens 48 Pack at Scrapbook.com! The smooth gel ink and vibrant colors make these pens a favorite among scrapbookers. Every canister contains 48 smooth writing gel pens.

Most papercrafting projects require a pen at some stage of creation – journaling on a scrapbook page, inside greeting in a card, or details on the tag of a gift. So it is important to find pens that not only will feel comfortable to write with, add beautiful ink on your page and last you a long time!

There are 48 pens in total in the kit and there are a variety of different vibrant colors in the set. The white gel pen provided in the pack are a favorite and they are perfect for use on black or dark colored cardstock. The pens are cleverly designed and feel great when you hold them; they do not have too thin a body and you can get a nice grip on them without straining your hand. Each pen has a small roller ball in the tip, very similar to a ballpoint pen, which enables you to write with precision and gives your writing a beautiful finish. They offer the control of a ballpoint pen but with better colors created by the gel ink.

You can easily create thin or bold lines too, simply by adjusting the pressure you apply when writing. I enjoy how the pen seems to slide across the page so easily and it doesn’t seem to produce intermittent gaps in the ink like other gel pens do.

Some important tips:

  • Be careful if you use a glossy paper as it takes longer for the gel pens to dry on this shiny surface. Be aware of hte potential for smudging.
  • When you first get them, be gentle. The ink might not flow immediately but be patient. Roll the tip gently on the palm of your hand and this usually gets the ink flowing nicely. Luckily these inks are easy to wash off!
  • Try not to jab the ball in the tip too much. Don’t stamp it down on your page with any great force. This could damage the pen beyond repair if the ball gets stuck which in turn means the ink will not flow. Treat it as you would a delicate flower!
  • Make sure to put the caps back on when you are finished with the pens. They can dry out if left out in the open for too long.
  • If you are still having issues with getting the ink flowing, roll the body of the pen with the lid on between the palms of your hands. This warms the ink up a little and makes writing a lot quicker.
  • These pens are fantastic for journaling, titling, drawing, writing, doodling, adding accents to your layouts and more.

    Gel pens ROCK

I really love these gel pens. they have smooth writing and dont leak and spread when your using them. However, both of the white gel pens wern't as i expected them to be. They dont write very good, and are choppy on dark paper. the golds and silvers and light blues work exelent on black paper though, and dont sketch out while you are writing with them.

    GOOD

I really like these. Colors are great and there are alot of them for the price. Very smooth writing. They do need to be shipped in a little better packaging. One of them had burst and I had to wash each pen before I could use them. Other than that initial issue, they are perfect for scrapbooking, journaling, and project life cards.

    Nice Variety

Nice set of pens - multiples of many colors. They write well - just remember to tighten the cap and start them on a separate piece of paper.

    writing pens

I am not as crazy about these as I am about the other pens I purchased. Some of them does not write, two were broken when I opened the container. They are great to write with, and it has so many wonderful colors.

Questions & Answers
  • What is the best way to store the gel pens, upright or on their side? I have had some gels leak when upright but then others have dried up when on the side. At a loss here on how best to make them last.   By: otr (29-Sep-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Gel pens do not have a long shelf life. If you get a year out of them, you are doing well. It is always best to store them on their side as it will keep the ink even in the barrel so when you go to use it, it will write just fine. Hope this helps. Have a great day!
