The picture of this album looks much more lemon yellow than it is in real life. It is actually a very bold sunflower color. Check out the Becky Higgins Mini Album in Sunflower (search for it here on Scrapbook.com) for a more accurate representation of the color. It's very nice, and is exactly the shade of yellow I was hoping for. If you've been disappointed in the We R Memory Keepers yellow color, "Buttercup" (which is very soft and closer to beige than bright yellow), then you might like this one better. I do!
The leather is OK. It's not as supple as the We R albums, but I think it's just fine. This album is made by American Crafts, and it's the same size as the 12x12 classic leather albums from We R. It has a label holder on the spine, which holds the same size label as the We R Albums. The design is slightly different, with a rounded arch at the top of the metal plate, so it's not exactly the same, but I think it looks fine on the shelf next to my other albums (which are all from We R).
I love the sheet lifter at the front of the album. It's the clear plastic Becky Higgins branded one that says, "Cultivate a good life and record it." The album also comes with a 6x12 clear plastic envelope page (it's stiff and will hold momentos). There are 10 page protectors included -- five Design A and five 12x12. If you want to see more photos of what's included, go to shopbeckyhiggins dot com and look for the faux leather 12x12 albums.
The only reason I gave this album four stars instead of five is that it arrived with a little bit of grime on it. I was able to clean it off with a soft rag and some water, but I would have preferred it to have arrived in pristine condition. Better packaging would solve this. Scrapbook.com did a decent job of protecting it in the shipping box, but I am not sure why these albums are not shrink wrapped at the factory. That would help. I am happy with it, though, and will likely order another one in a different color next year.
